Kevin J. Baxter
Erie County Prosecutor

Kevin was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1982. He is currently Vice President of National District Attorney Association, Chairman of the Erie County Community Corrections Board and past President of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association. Before being elected as the Erie County Prosecutor in 1989 Kevin served as Law Director for the City of Sandusky from 1987 to 1989. He also served as Police Prosecutor for the City of Sandusky from 1983 through 1987.


Mary Ann Barylski
Chief Assistant Prosecutor

Mary Ann was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1987 and joined the Prosecutor's Office the same year. She is currently the Chief Assistant Prosecutor. In 2010, Mary Ann was honored as the Ohio Prosecuting Attorney Association Outstanding Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. In 1992, Mary Ann was the recipient of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorney's Certificate of Achievement Award. On May 25, 2010, Mary Ann was also the recipient of an achievement award by the Erie County Aiding Children's Excellence in recognition of outstanding service for children. Mary Ann was one of the Board Members that founded the CASA program for Erie County. Prior to joining the Prosecutor's Office, she was involved in a family business.


Vicki R. Palmer
Assistant Prosecutor

Vicki was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1979. She was a former Magistrate in the Erie County Family Court. Currently Vicki handles Children Services cases and shares in the duties of the Juvenile Court.


Jeanne M. Lippert
Assistant Prosecutor

Jeanne was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1992. She was formerly a Public Defender until 1999 when she became an Assistant Prosecutor. Jeanne handles criminal cases in the felony division with emphasis on felony D.U.I. offenders. She also handles the civil forfeitures for the office.


Cheryl Goodrum
Assistant Prosecutor

Cheryl was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1995 and admitted to the United States District Court, Northern Division in 2002. She joined the Prosecutor's Office in January 2004 after serving in the private sector for several years. Cheryl now handles criminal cases in the Felony Division after serving as the Juvenile Prosecutor for eight years.


Aaron Lindsey
Assistant Prosecutor

Aaron was a Deputy Sheriff in upstate New York for four years. He graduated from the Buffalo Law School and was admitted to the New York Bar in 2003. Aaron was an active duty Air Force attorney in the Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps from 2003 until 2009. He was a JAG prosecutor for four years and then a defense counsel for two years. Aaron continues his military career in the JAG Corps in the Indiana Air National Guard. Aaron was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2009. He joined the Wood County Ohio Prosecutor's Office in 2009 as an assistant prosecuting attorney where he prosecuted felony cases. Aaron joined the Erie County Prosecutor's Office in 2014 where he currently prosecutes felony cases.


Pamela Gross
Assistant Prosecutor

Pamela graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1997. From 1997 - 2000, she practiced as a civil attorney with Lucal & McGookey in Sandusky, Ohio. She worked at the Erie County Prosecutor's Office as a felony prosecutor from 2009 - 2013. Pamela then moved with her family to Wisconsin, where she was admitted to practice law in 2013 and worked as a civil attorney in Oshkosh. She and her family returned home to Sandusky in 2014 and she again joined the Erie County Prosecutor's Office as a felony prosecutor.


Ashley Thomas
Assistant Prosecutor

Ashley was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2010. She joined the Erie County Prosecutor's Office in 2011 where she was assigned to the Juvenile Court division of the Erie County Court of Common Pleas. Ashley currently presents felony adult cases to the Erie County Grand Jury each month and handles cases for the Erie County Department of Job and Family Services. Ashley graduated from Miami University and received her JD from Duquesne University.


Nicholas J. Smith
Assistant Prosecutor

Nic was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2005 and joined the Erie County Prosecutor's Office in 2006. During his time as an Assistant Prosecutor from 2006 through June of 2010, Nic worked in the Criminal Division, primarily focusing on felony prosecution. In August of 2011, Nic rejoined the Erie County Prosecutor's Office and currently works part-time at the Erie County Municipal Court, focusing on misdemeanor prosecution.

Nic graduated Cum Laude from Kent State University in 2001 with a B.A. in Political Science and Cum Laude in 2005 from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he served as an Editor for the Cleveland State Law Review.

Nic is a member of the Erie County Bar Association (Trustee 2012-present), Ohio State Bar Association and Erie-Huron Joint Certified Grievance Committee (Bar Counsel 2013-present). Additionally, Nic serves as a member of the School Council at St. Mary Catholic School, Vermilion, Ohio (2015-present) and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Sandusky Central Catholic School Education Foundation, Inc. (2014-present).
