MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school graduate or equivalent. Responsible for performing unskilled maintenance tasks.  Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and be able to withstand extreme temperatures.  Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. Erie County residency preferred.

Pre-employment physical and drug screen required.

Description of the Job:

Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing unskilled maintenance and repair duties to roads, bridges, drainage ditches, and right-of-way; performs other related duties as required.

Seasonal Maintenance, County Engineer

Illustrative Duties: (The duties listed below are intended to illustrate various work functions including but not necessarily limited to those which may be required to be performed under this classification.)

* Drive pick-up truck and other light equipment to haul supplies, etc.
* Unload supplies and materials.
* Cut weeds and remove litter from highway rights-of-way.
* May serve as flagman for highway project crews.
* Cleans equipment and machinery.
* Cleans up outdoor areas using the proper tools and equipment.
* Mow grass, weed whip around guardrails, posts and signs.
* Perform other related duties as required.

Physical Requirements:

* Alternate frequently between standing/walking/crawling/climbing throughout an eight (8) hour workday.
* Lift/carry a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
* Reaching with bilateral upper extremities into/up to/down to various heights.
* Push/pull with twenty (20) pounds of initial force.
* Able to withstand extreme temperatures.
