2025 CHIP - Notice of First Public Hearing

The Erie County Commissioners (Erie County) in partnership with the City of Sandusky, the City of Huron, and the City of Vermilion intend to apply to the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) for funding under the Community Housing Impact & Preservation Program (CHIP), which includes funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investments Partnership (HOME) programs administered by the State of Ohio and funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Ohio Housing Trust Funds (OHTF). The partnership is eligible to apply for $1,250,000 in Program Year 2025 for affordable housing activities.

  • Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP): biennial up to $1,250,000 in partnership with the cities of Sandusky, Huron and Vermillion – designed to improve housing conditions and strengthen neighborhoods.
The first of two public hearings that will be held on May 16th, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the Erie County Commissioner’s Chambers, located at the Erie County Services Building, 2900 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. This meeting will provide citizens with pertinent information about the CHIP program, including an explanation of eligible activities, program requirements and application due dates. Citizens are encouraged to attend to provide input on the County’s programs. Accommodations for disabled or non-English speaking residents will be made available upon advance request, at least one (1) week prior to hearing date, by contacting Erie County at 419-627-7524.

The second public hearing will be held June 9th, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the Erie County Commissioner’s Chambers, located at the Erie County Services Building, 2900 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
