ERIE COUNTY SEEKS COMMENT ON ERI-CR 110-2.83, PID 118819, CAMPBELL STREET / STRUB ROAD ROUNDABOUT PROJECT IN PERKINS TOWNSHIP, ERIE COUNTY.

Perkins Township, Erie County – The Erie County Engineer’s Office, in conjunction with federal transportation funding provided by the County Engineer’s Association of Ohio (CEAO), is proposing to install a roundabout at the intersection of Campbell Street and Strub Road in Perkins Township, Erie County. 

The roundabout will require a full closure of Campbell Street and Strub Road during construction.  A detour route will be posted during the closure. Proposed work for the roundabout will require new right-of-way. Final design is not expected to be complete until late 2025, and construction is not expected to start until summer 2028.  

As part of the environmental studies for this project, all areas that may contain environmentally sensitive areas, archeologically important materials, or may be considered historic must be identified and located.  The locations of historic and archeologically important sites will be reported to Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) environmental personnel and the Ohio Historic Preservation Office (OHPO).   ODOT and the OHPO will assess this project and determine its effects on all identified sites.  If you are aware of any environmentally sensitive areas, historic or archeologically important sites within the proposed project limits, please notify the Erie County Engineer at the below address.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Ohio Department of Transportation pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
