NOTICE TO ALL PROSPECTIVE SHERIFF SALE BIDDERS.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office will replace the current in-person Sheriff Sale process with online sales in accordance with The Ohio Administrative Code. This process, which was scheduled to begin in August of 2021, will now take effect in September 2021. All real estate due to foreclosure and/or delinquent real estate taxes will be held on the "Official Public Sheriff's Sale Website", operated by Realauction. The process and procedures under under which these sales will be completed are detailed at the Realauction website http:erie.sheriffsaleauction.ohio.gov. All prospective bidders should familiarize themselves with this new process. The website will go live approximately 3 to 5 weeks before the first sale.
Location Of Sales
Sheriff's sales of real estate are held at the north door of the Courthouse in downtown Sandusky (323 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio 44870) on TUESDAYS at 10:00 AM. Below is a listing of upcoming sales. Complete legal descriptions for all properties are on file in the Erie County Recorder's Office, 247 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio.
Terms Of Sales
Specified deposit amount down, due at the time of the sale. Balance will be due 8 days after notification by the Sheriff's Office to the successful bidder that they have received confirmation of the sale. Payment of the unpaid balance beyond said 8 day period shall draw interest at 8% per annum from the date of notification to the successful bidder by the Sheriff's Office. Balance must be paid in full within 30 days of the notification. All money must be in the form of a Cashier's Check or Bank Money Order made payable to THE ERIE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE (Personal, Company, Home Equity Loan Checks or Cash will not be accepted).
The purchasers shall take such premises subject to all taxes, assessments, interest and penalty charges. The purchaser shall be responsible for those costs, allowances and taxes that the proceeds of the sale are insufficient to cover. Bidders are hereby informed that the appraisal of this property did not include an interior examination of the premises.
