Our Mission

The Erie County Engineer's Office is dedicated to the care and maintenance of Erie County's system of roads and bridges and constantly provides the highest possible level of service towards the people of Erie County. To that end we commit our knowledge, our efforts, and our resources.

What We Do

The Erie County Engineer's Office maintains county roads, bridges and public drainage systems in the unincorporated parts of Erie County, Ohio. The Engineer's Office also provides engineering services for the nine townships of Erie County.

Eric Dodrill began his first term as Erie County Engineer January 6, 2025.   He brings many years of engineering experience, in both the public and private sectors to the position.
 
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at West Virginia University in 1988, Ohio and Erie County in particular, became home for him and his family.  He and his wife, Gail, reside in Huron Township and have two adult children.  
 
Eric is excited to have the opportunity to serve in this important position and knows the importance developing and maintaining strong partnerships to best serve our residents and visitors.
