Parent Advocacy

The Erie County FCFC was awarded a grant by the NAMI Ohio to support Parent Advocacy in not only Erie County but also in Huron, Ottawa and Sandusky Counties. Erie County FCFC has two Parent Advocates working on staff to serve the parents of the four counties. The Parent Advocacy Connection Program helps families navigate through child serving systems and helps caregivers advocate for their children. The Parent Advocates are individuals with lived experience as the primary caregiver or parent of a child or children for whom they have navigated multiple child serving systems. The Parent Advocate can identify with the parent's struggles and encourages parents on their own journey.
