ALL FINGERPRINGING IS AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Currently, BCI/FBI electronic fingerprinting is being scheduled Monday- Friday 8am to 3:45pm with extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 5:45. We are closed on all government holidays as well as the day after Thanksgiving. Please call 419-625-7951 extension 6256 to schedule an appointment.
Please bring with you, a valid government issued photo ID and a certified bank check or money order, made out to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. We
DO NOT ACCEPT personal checks, business checks, counter checks, credit cards nor cash.
The cost for this service is $34 for a BCI background check; $36 for a FBI background check and $70 for both BCI/FBI. Please have your BCI (
BCI Reason Codes) and/or FBI (
FBI Reason Codes) code along with the mailing address of where the results need to be mailed to, with you upon arrival.
Civilian fingerprints will be taken in the Concealed Handgun Licensing office.
For ink fingerprints on a card, there is a $15 charge, made payable by Money Order or Certified Bank Check only. We DO NOT ACCEPT personal checks, business checks, counter checks, credit cards nor cash. We offer ink printing same hours as Concealed Handgun Licensing, and an appointment is all required.
****Any incurred fees from canceled or returned checks due to insufficient funds will be the sole responsibility of the individual remitting said payment. Failure to pay the original fee could result in small claims or criminal charges.****
