Chris’ primary responsibility is managing the Court’s Domestic Relations docket. Routinely he conducts Civil Protection Order Hearings and Civil Stalking Protection Order Hearings. On a daily basis he conducts Domestic Relation Pre-Trials, Trials and Status Conferences. He manages all of the Domestic Relations motions, including post-decree motions, filed before the Court and attempts to resolve them in a timely manner in compliance with the Ohio Supreme Court Rules of Superintendence. Additionally, he conducts Probable Cause Hearings for Probation Violations and Arraignments in criminal cases.

Chris attends various Domestic Relations seminars that afford him an opportunity to earn continuing education credits. These seminars allows him an opportunity to network with other Magistrates and Judges regarding Domestic Relations’ matters, they also open a door to dialogue and exchange ideas. Through these seminars, he gains valuable knowledge in recognizing and being sensitive to the various Domestic Violence situations that come before the Court.

Over the past years, he has touched many families in Erie County through his work in his caseload of divorces, dissolutions, child support matters, change of custody, visitation, support enforcement and domestic violence matters. He views this experience as extremely rewarding and remains cognizant of the serious responsibility he has in providing closure and stabilizing families who find themselves in such disputes.
