The Erie County Engineer’s Office, in conjunction with federal transportation funding provided by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), is proposing to resurface Campbell St. from Bogart Rd. to Bell Ave., and construct sidewalk on Campbell St. from Windamere Lane to Perkins High School and on Strub Rd. from Campbell St. to the existing sidewalk.  Traffic is expected to be maintained during construction.   Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026.

This project will be coordinated with a separate project to build a modern roundabout at the intersection of Campbell St. and Strub Rd. to avoid overlap.

The public is asked to provide feedback regarding the proposed resurfacing and sidewalk project. Comments regarding the project may be submitted by direct contact at the number, mailing address, and email address below. Comments received by March 8, 2024, will be included in the official project documentation, but all comments will be accepted at any time.

Comments concerning the proposed project may be mailed to Matt Rogers, P.E., Project Engineer, Erie County Engineer’s Office, 2700 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.  You may also contact by telephone at (419) 627-7710 or by email at [email protected].

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental law for these projects are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2020, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
