Erie County Notification System Information

Erie County Notification System Information

The Erie County Notification System provides notifications to residents all across Erie County. The notification options include information about severe weather, winter road condition advisory levels, road closings or detours and Community specific messages. It takes just a few minutes to register.  Notifications can be sent via text, e-mail or voice message. To register for the program residents can visit this page and choose which alerts they would like to receive.

Upon sign up you will automatically be registered to receive Tornado Warnings, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings, Haz-mat Warnings and Shelter in Place Warnings.  However, you can choose to opt out of these notifications by unchecking the box on the registration page.  Other optional National Weather Service notifications and Community specific notifications can also be selected.  After registration if you would like to opt out of this service, simply text STOP after receiving a message and you will be removed from the system.

We urge people to sign up their elderly family members or friends without internet. These people could still receive phone calls to landlines which could help them during an emergency. The registration form also allows users to give information about disabilities or special needs they have that could be utilized by emergency services personnel during a disaster.

If you have questions about the system you can call the Erie County Emergency Management Agency at
419-627-7617.
