The Diversion Program accepts status offenders (unruly, runaway, truancy), youth who are first time offenders and are charged with low level offenses, and youth with minimal prior contact with Juvenile Court.  Some felony charges are referred to Diversion but require the approval of the Judge. 

The youth and parent/guardian meet with the Diversion Counselor to address the charge, the underlying behavior that lead to youth's charge and to provide services to reduce youth committing further offenses.  

The Diversion Program also makes referrals to outside agencies when necessary.

Youth who successfully complete the Diversion Program have their charge dismissed and expunged.
