Sewer Rates generate revenue to pay for cost of Sandusky and Vermilion to convey and treat a portion of our wastewater, operation and maintenance expenses of County wastewater plants and sewer systems, capital improvements, equipment purchase, debt service payments, billing and administrative costs, etc.
The charges for sewer are based upon water consumption. The monthly sewer rates effective with the bills due on or about June 17, 2023, and thereafter, shall be:

All sewer bills shall be rendered on a monthly basis and in the full amount due for sanitary sewer used during the billing period.
All residential sewer customers who do not have public water and water meter will be charged by Erie County a minimum of 5 CCF/month for sewer usage.
